Winchester Young Carers is an independent charity which provides a service for Young Carers aged 8-17 throughout the Winchester District.
>If you are a young carer but do not live within the Winchester District there is a list of other Hampshire projects here.<
We are based in Winnall, at King Alfred's Youth Activity Centre (KAYAC), which has the convenience of having our office and clubs under the same roof.

Young carers are children first and should be free to develop emotionally and physically and to take full advantage of opportunities for educational achievement and life success.
Our Mission
To improve the lives of children and young people with caring responsibilities by providing safe, quality support to individuals and offering an inclusive, wide ranging, and holistic approach which considers the needs of the whole family.
What we offer

- Someone to listen to how you are feeling
- A range of different activities and trips - and time for a laugh
- The opportunity to meet other young people in similar situations and make new friends
- A regular club to meet up at and chat and relax
- Support in schools
- Opportunities to learn new skills such as first aid and cooking
- A Befriending Scheme (one-to-one support)
- Help finding other support that you may need
